Infini Crypto Card Shuts Down, Shifts Focus to Financial Management
Infini Card, a once-popular crypto-enabled debit card solution in China, has officially suspended its card services. The platform announced the pivot via Telegram, citing a strategic shift toward financial management to maintain user trust and comply with regulatory standards. Founder Christian Li confirmed on X that only the crypto card service is discontinued, with other product functions remaining operational.
The MOVE highlights the challenges of operating in China''s tightly regulated crypto environment. Infini continues to offer withdrawal and Earn yield functions, while automatic refunds for card applications are being processed. The platform is developing new asset management and decentralized payment features, signaling an evolution beyond its initial offering.
This transition comes months after Infini suffered a $50 million exploit in February, allegedly perpetrated by a project developer. The incident underscores the vulnerabilities inherent in crypto payment systems, even as companies adapt to shifting regulatory landscapes.
